A suite of tools made to simplify the life of a small buisness
This was a project I built for a local buisness that sells custom, modern grilles for your home.
They have a huge product catalog. Some are standard and in stock, but they have an extensive list of sizes they can have manufactured on demand, as well as totally custom projects.
When I first met with them they had issues managing this massive number of products, dealing with custom orders, and all kinds of little things that made things harder and took up time that could be used to actually grow the buisness.
I worked with them to develop a whole suite of tools to help make their buisness run smoother.
Some of the highlights:
Quote generation
Customers enter the deatails of what they want to order
The backend receives it, creates a draft order with prices filled in, creates a new ticket in the crm, sends an email to customers letting them know the request has been recived
A staff member gives it a quick check, and if everything looks good clicks a button to send an email to the customer for payment
Price Management
Since these products can be built in a variety of sizes, finishes, and options, theres a lot of products. Even with the limited standard sizes kept in stock, it gets big fast. So one of the big features is the ability to take an export from the big pricing spreadsheet and import it into the tool, which will then sync the prices to the storefront with a single click.
Order Management
Easily manage orders. This was a big ask as it took a lot of their time. With this tool they were able to group customer orders into production runs, and export them in a format the manufacturing tools could undestand.
On the customer side, customers able to follow their order through the manufacturing process and have an up to date estimate for thier custom order, which just wasnt possible before.
Grille Visualizer
This one was a lot of fun. One of the request customers had all the time was wanting to know what x size would look like. WIth tens of thousands of possible products, it's jut not realistic to be able to photograph all of them. So I put together a tool that lets customers enter a size, and they'll get a generated image of roughly what it would end up looking like. Including the different placements of the mounting holes, and optional digrams showing what the internal and external dimensions would be
